SW1353 cell line was isolated from a primary grade II chondrosarcoma of the right humerus in a 72-year-old Caucasian female. The patient was diagnosed with primary grade II chondrosarcoma. The initial culture medium was L-15 medium containing cortisone and insulin, supplemented with 10% FBS and 1% antibiotics.
